Below is a letter that went out to our ASAP Community.
Hello After School Activities Program (ASAP) Families,
I want to start off by thanking you for your interest in ASAP and registering your student. We are excited to have this new year of learning together!
ASAP will be following the Silver Falls School District (SFSD) in its approach to distance learning. The ASAP program will start off the year in a digital format utilizing ZOOM as a way to connect your student to our services. Throughout the school year, we may be changing our program based on the impact of coronavirus. We will evaluate the program needs as necessary to best serve the community.
We plan to offer:
Access to ASAP Staff/Volunteers to enhance students’ success.
Zoom video calls where students can ask questions / get clarification on homework.
Group Zoom sessions to socialize, play games, and focus on having fun!
These are the core elements of ASAP - Online. A huge thank you to those that have shared their needs and experiences with us. As always, our goal is to help students and families in our community thrive.
Beginning the week of October 26th, 2020, ASAP will be transitioning to an appointment system for all future homework sessions. To have the right person available to help, we are asking that you and your student sign up for one or more time slots. Once you sign up for a session, an email will be sent to you and your student with a link to that Zoom session. This link will only be valid for that session. It will be important that your student uses their own name in order for them to be allowed into the session.
