Community Update for Fall 2020

Hello ASAP Community,

We just wanted to give everyone an update on what the After School Activities Program (ASAP) will look like this Fall. ASAP will continue to be available to all students that will be in the 6th through 8th grade within the Silver Falls School District (SFSD). ASAP will begin the school year in an online format. Our program will be following SFSD in our approach to in-person gathering.

ASAP will operate in one of three models this upcoming school year based upon what the Center for Disease Control (CDC) and the Oregon Department of Education (ODE) recommend, to ensure students safety. ASAP will be flexible and have the ability to switch between programs as needed. Below is an overview of what each model will look like:

ASAP Online - consists of ASAP staff/volunteers enhancing students learning by offering tutoring, social interaction, and fun games in a digital environment.

ASAP Hybrid - follows SFSD cohort program and is available in-person to cohort A on Tuesday/Thursday and cohort B on Wednesday/Friday and offers tutoring, social interaction, a healthy meal, and fun games.

ASAP After-School - resumes full in-person program Tuesday through Thursday after-school providing tutoring, social interaction, a healthy meal and fun games.

ASAP has made a commitment to our community and our youth to follow all CDC and ODE guidelines and ensure all students have access to equitable education in a safe environment.

Look for future updates highlighting each model over the course of the coming weeks.
