New and Noteworthy News!

Updated: Apr 15, 2023

ASAP had a board meeting yesterday, and we have some news to share! The first exciting news that many of you know already is that our Program Director Tess is expecting her 3rd little one any day now! Which means that she will be going on parental leave soon! We are going to rely on some volunteer help to cover us while she is gone, so if you have time and willingness to help, please sign up for a date (or two) that you would be willing to help us during our regular program time! https://forms.gle/GZfgW5X3XvRPe4AQ9 If you go to the link and fill out the form we can get a background check done and get you on our calendar! There has to be a minimum of 2 adults with the kids at all times, so we really need some help during the 3 months that Tess will be on parental leave!

Our second exciting news is that our Outreach Director Crystal has found her dream job, and is now the music teacher for Victor Point and Evergreen Elementary Schools! We are so happy for her!! We are happy to announce that she will be staying on with us doing our social media and our donor engagement so she will still be on our team!! We are currently looking for someone who can come on board as a program coordinator and be at ASAP during program hours (from 2 to 6pm Tuesday through Thursday)! If you can help volunteer during Tess's parental leave, please feel free to fill out the form in the link - https://forms.gle/GZfgW5X3XvRPe4AQ9 . Please feel free to share the link!

We are getting statements ready to go out next week for your childs ASAP cash earnings, if your child is at ASAP, we will send it home with them. If not, you can request one and we will email it to you. If you have any questions don't hesitate to reach out to us!

We have an opportunity to help out with a major ASAP fundraiser this month!

Silverton United Methodist Church is bringing back it's annual Chili Cook Off Competition! After a 2 year hiatus, it is back! This year we have three returning competitors - Silverton Fire Department, Rotary Club of Silverton, and Silverton High School Culinary Team! Will the Culinary Team hold on to it's current title of "BEST CHILI", or will the Silverton Fire Department take back the title?? OR Will the Silverton High School Community Transitions Program swoop in and steal the title?? Find out on Fat Tuesday, February 21st, from 5 to 6:30pm! Tickets are $10/adult, $5/child, or $25 per family, and include a chili (Made by the ASAP Staff) dinner with baked potato and a dessert, and a taste test from all 4 of our competitors! Vote on your favorite chili! Help decide this years' winner!

We are going to take the first 10 kids that sign up on the google form below to the Methodist Church on Tuesday, February 21st, at 4:00 pm to help set up and "work" the dinner. They will get a chili dinner and $5 ASAP cash in their account! Plus interacting with the community that supports them!

Below is the Google form to register your child to volunteer for the event. We are limited on transportation and can only take 10 so sign up right away if you want your child included! Attached is the flier for the event too, please feel free to share with friends and families!
